Whitnall Turns to Milwaukee Hamilton for New Football Coach
posted 04/04/2012

Jeff Wallack, who has spent the last six years as head coach at Milwaukee Hamilton, will replace Rob Leboeuf. He will be introduced to players and parents Wednesday.

Jeff Wallack was attracted to the Whitnall High School head football coach position for several reasons, three of which stood out more than most.

He wanted to coach in a district with only one high school, was encouraged by the district’s junior program’s participation numbers and loved the Whitnall community, one where he and his wife Jamie would like to raise their sons AJ and Parker.

Wisconsin Governor Signs Youth Concussion Legislation
posted 04/04/2012

Last Updated on 04.04.2012

Wisconsin governor Scott Walker signed youth concussion legislation into law today at Lambeau Field in Green Bay. Support for the bill came from physicians, student-athletes, the NFL's Green Bay Packers and other organizations.

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell has exhibited an unwavering committment to the adoption of concussion legislation nationwide, starting with the Washington state concussion law named after middle school football player Zackery Lystedt, who was injured during a game in 2006.

Like the Lystedt Law, Wisconsin's concussion law calls for the removal of any athlete suspected of having suffered a concussion and requires a player to obtain written medical authorization before resuming activity.

The new law also requires the state Department of Public Instruction to work in conjunction with the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association to develop guidelines and education standards for parents, coaches, and athletes.

The Whitnall Youth Football/Cheerleading Program is not controlled by Whitnall School District. It is however run by an independent Board of Directors who makes all decisions relevant to the football and cheerleading program. Whitnall School District has been supportive of this program by helping us distribute information and allowing us to use practice facilities, indoor gyms, and the High School football field. We are in debt to them for their support, but remind parents to direct and questions or concerns to the Whitnall Youth Football Board.
